Hey...I haven't seen Dumb and Dumber in a while so when I saw the clip for the first time I didn't understand why he was turning his head backwards. But now i remember he was driving a cab and look back at the passenger. Since you only put an hour into it it is coming a long nicely.. the one thing that stood out to me was after he says "flying somewhere?" he head seem to wobble a bit to much..I would suggest toning the wobble down a bit.... besides that it.. it looks good.

That's a good sound byte. right now his head just seems to be floating around. I'd throw in some moving holds and get the eyes and eyebrowes emoting more. The lip sync is pretty nice. Good start, though!

i know carrey is talking to holly in the back. it does look like he could be talking to someone in the back of a car while he is driving but thats just because i know the sound byte. you should make it your own. his head is doing a lot of the same and has the dreaded floatyness, but not that much, i wanna see an update.

the nose is moving itself, and too much. Head's motion should be the lead, and the nose is follow.
also, add more the eyes movement to the character to make him think. :)

Thanx everyone for the Crits...I've cleaned up a little of the sync, and I plan to add more emotion to his face.
The nose movement is pretty much triggered by the blend shapes that were created for this rig, so its very hard to not have it move when the mouth does.
I own acting for animators the book, and I definitly agree he needs to think...and I think thats the main point they pushed across in that book
update should be up soon

One thing I noticed as being very distracting is the way you animated the lips. Rather than trying to force every syllable, try grouping sounds together. Sometimes less is more. It will read better and not look so flappy.
Also I think the fact that he's looking behind him could work but you have to sell it. Tighten up your extremes and definitly push the holds. His heads flopping around like a rubberneck Also, alot can be said with just the eyes and brows. you don't need to move the head as much.
Keep workin' It'll get there
