Hey,

In my spare time I work on a project called “A Hard Life”, started by Giuliano … it’s something that began as a short but grown, with time, into a bolder project : a feature film :)

At the moment we are looking for new members to join our team … and I was assigned to spread the word :)

We need:
2D artists : concept, storyboard etc.
3D modelers : any 3D app is welcomed as long you can export to .obj
texture artists : preferably (but not limited to) Maya users
lighting artists : Maya
animators : Maya

Now, please take a look at our site www.AHardLife.com (http://www.ahardlife.com/) … and make sure you don’t skip the intro :) it’s the best part and will give you an idea of what the movie it’s all about …

I’ve added some thumbnails, but if you want more, you can check out my thread on this forum: http://www.visualart.ro/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7735 (http://www.visualart.ro/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7735) and see some of the newest models and renders.

Here’s Giuliano’s message:

Hi everyone,

It seems that after long searches and headaches I managed to convince someone to invest in “A Hard Life”.

It’s not much (about $10.000), but the money could be enough to complete the movie in about 8 months. For those of you that don’t know, we’re talking about an 80 minutes long feature film.

So, the plan goes like this:

First of all, we’ll complete the trailer (about 3-4 minutes) and the animatic. These two, and what we already have will make a presentation package that will reach several producers and distributors. They already know about AHL and they are waiting for this package.

This way, we’ll have real chances to get some serious money for the project. I said “serious money” because these 10K’s are budgeted in such a way so we can complete the movie, with minimum payments, but no one will get a real salary for the work. At least not from this budget.

Please have in mind that AHL was a collaborative non-paying project … and more than half the work is already done … If we managed to do so much without being paid, imagine what we can do with some money, even if it’s only a minimum budget … so, it’s doable. :)

Now, we have to put together a team that will work close and responsible for the next period of time.

I know that completing a feature film in such a short period of time may sound utopian, but AHL has some special features that really make this possible. Obviously, the guy that wants to invest made sure of the feasibility of the project before saying a “yes”. :)

Screen credits are guaranteed.

Bottom line is: I’ll wait for replies from you, to gather this team, but this has to be real quick, since at 1st of November we will get the first production money and we’ll have to get started.

Please think twice before giving an answer, because once I sign the contract with this guy, I have a responsibility. In other words, even if the money are short, the movie has to be delivered on time (deals will be made with distribution houses), and we cannot afford to cause any delay into the production schedule.

I’ll make a list of tasks for each department (2D, 3D, modeling, texturing etc) and a deadline, and you will take from there the amount of work you think you are able to accomplish within the given time frame.

The money will come in monthly payments, starting November 1, so until then, we need to get this team around.

I don’t know yet any details about how the money will get to you, but I’m sure there are lots of ways.

Waiting for questions and replies : Giuliano@AHardLife.com
