Grand Space Opera 3D Entry: Kaï Lydecken

I think I'll do a classic scene : a battle between various space species. Yeah I know that's pretty unoriginal but I'll try to bring some originality in the designs and overall look.

First I hesistated between 2D and 3D because I'm not so good in modeling and textures. But after I thought this challenge is perfect to improve these skills.

I'll upload some concept sketches in a few hours...

SPAGHETTI is for "Space Patrol Against Galactic Harassment on Earthdudes and Terribly Tacky Idiots".
On the high-left corner there is a 1 place interceptor, on the high-right corner it's a bomber (without the bomb but with 3 laser-turrets and 1 pilot on the top) and the last is a sort of space-jeep.
I try to find a look like these 50'-60' tin toys (robots and other cars).

Here is some sketches to find the look of the aliens. But after I thought they are not looking "bad" at all. So I think I'll keep the space suit for the humans and continue on the concept process (for the aliens but for the humans too).

Good luck with getting your ideas together. I'm not sure but i havn't seen any other concept stuff that is cartoony. mybe you will have something different here? Anyway good luck with your entry!:bounce:

This is the last concept I made some time ago. The combustion file bugged and it's not finished. Unfortunatly I hadn't much time to continue this challenge... 37 days left is too short for me to finish it. Maybe I'll "transform" this challenge to my next short movie.
