I have to say that I love the look of the mask on this character..it is very menacing looking...you have many characters to build...but I'm sure you can do it...you have the support of many of us here....peacE

Progress is coming along fast and smooth mate! I would suggest making the torso and legs a bit more curved, they look a little boxy right now, but just a little. Otherwise everything is fine!
Cheers!

great update on the boots, the straps look really cool
a little suggestion, make the soles of the boot slighter wider
First of all, thanks everybody for the support and the nice comments! Second, I want to remaind everybody that Killion is not finished yet, The work still WIP, there are a couple of stuff I haven't finished from the character yet. I'm taking my time (I don't have many) to built this character, so I have something that I can showcase in the future.
||) |V| |^| - I will add many details in the texture, dirt, stiches, patches, detail to the boots, among others... Thanks for your support mate!
essencedesign - Hey there, I'm glad you like it :D... Thank you for the support and kind words. Yes I have many characters to build and not so much time... what to do... what to do... I don't want to make the characters low poly because this is what I love to do, CG... and I don't have a demo reel. I'm working as a GA (graphic artist) for a respectable company... but I don't like my job  So I desided to create these characters and stuff the best I can, showing all my skills... detail, texturing, lighting, compossition skills, story developer, all those things, and see if I can adquire a possition pulling vertices somewhere :D
keetmun - Hey there mate! yeah, I know the torso and part of the legs are still boxy (undetailed)... because I haven't touched those sections yet. All I have is my (mass, overall) shape. Thanks for the support. For example, the belt... that doesn't look like a belt, is not finished... I will get to the pants first, then the shirt, then the belt. (something like that)
terraarc - Thanks for the support and kind words, I'm glad you like it.
Versiden - Thanks mate, for the support and the kind words. Regarding your suggestion: Sure, I'll give it a try... thanks!
- Cheers!

Hello there. He looks like a tusken raider :D
However, I think that the legs are a little bit too short?
Keep up the good work. I have to go back to work inmediately
nemirc - Hey there, thanks for the support and kind words mate! regarding your suggestion: No, his legs are not short at all. I used a real person proportion to create the dummy (body) I used to create the clothing. The person is about 5 foot 10 inches tall. I don't wan't the Mahians to look tall.
- Cheers!

Looking good man! I love the boots. It's hard to critique actually, becuase everything I might say could be something you're already working on and it's still quite basic to be b**ing about details :D
I love the shoe design, I'm curios the the connection pars though, because the part with the belts and the actually shoe arn't connected yet, looking foward to see how you're gonna sovle it
oshiroii - Thanks mate for the support! Regarding your question: mmm.. I don't understand your point...
- cheers!

I can understand the confusion. My last message was flooded with spelling errors, must have been late or something :banghead:
Anyhow, I made a little image to clearify my point. Basically it looks like the man weares shoes with some sort of sock over it. The "Belt" part doesn't seem to be a real part of the shoe, but just a thing on top of the shoe. I assume you're going to connect the two parts, so they look one and I was currious about how you were going to do it.
Sorry for my bad englisch :D
http://img145.exs.cx/img145/479/Untitled-1copy1.jpg
Climax & artemesia66 - Thanks for the support guys!
oshiroii - I see your point there... I thought the design was ok. I mean the boots are connected from the inside. Well I can also try to develope, something. Like another belt connected to the sock thing (belts) and going under the actual boot.
What do you think... I think it should look attached enough with 5 belts :applause:
- Cheers, thanks for your suggestion.

What do you think... I think it should look attached enough with 5 belts :applause:
HAHAHA that's a good one :applause:
However oshiroii has a point... maybe if at least some part of the "covering" was attached to the shoe it would make a difference. Perhaps if you attach a small section of that area just below the last belt :buttrock:
arturro
12-16-2004, 04:40 PM
I think that it's ok as it is. Maybe only put some balls on the bottom part(as it is on the belts, I think they are called hobnails... ) that would show that it is connected with the shue.
Sharga
12-16-2004, 07:08 PM
I think you should rename the character Shoebelt! ;)
oshiroii has a point, but it's not like they have to be connected. Anyhow, just putting another belt (or hobnail) in there would probably do the trick.

First, here is the fix for the problem ^^, simple huh? I tried adding the belt at the bottom of the shoe. Also tried the connection using the sides of the boot,... didn't work. So what I did is added some screws at the back part of the show and the cover like thing. Like at the begining of the idea, the show was attached in the same area, but from the inside... like a butterfly, when you open the show.
- Thanks everybody for the support ^^

The character is looking good so far. I agree with arturro, I think that the tail looks like its been placed a bit high, but hey its your character and you can put the tail anywhere you want to. :P
arturro - I was hoping the tail looked good where it was... I guess I'm going to move it a little bit lower. Thanks man! and thank you for caring about my son!
||) |V| |^| - Yeah, thanks mate... I will lower the tail a bit... Regarding your comment: Yes it is my character and I can do whatever I want with it, but if you guys don't like something, please ALWAYS tell me, because somebody elses can see that something is wrong, and that somebody can be the person who is looking at my portfolio and will not like my job :(, Thank you for being honest.
- Cheers!

Here is the fix for the tail, also added some of the placeholders objects, for the spheres (like some sort of electromanectic pulse granade) and the box placeholders for belt pockets (pouch like pockets) I'm still missing the pockets in the pants. I'll do that soon. Also I'm missing the hands, pretty easy to model. And finally the mechanic arm. And I'll be done with this character... Wow! well, I don't have that much time anyways... thanks for following the thread anyways :D

Here is just a little update for the belt pouch and added the pocket to the pant. The idea is to make the pocket and the pockets in the belt similar, like, these people re-used some old pants to create the pouch pockets.
- Cheers!

Nice going ARSA! And certainly has some life already in him. The tail seems a bit higher than usual but it's incorporating very well with the whole pose.
Waiting for hands! :)
terraarc - Thank you mate! The tail should look alright... I mean did you see the fix in the before last update? where the tail is placed as a mock/test right beside the dummy? (body)...
The hands... yeah! I forgot about those... I will start on those soon! as soon as I'm 100% finished with everything else.
- cheers!

Here is a screenshot tooked from maya viewports, to show the progress in the hands. At the momment the hands have unnecesary amount of polys, so I have to clean up a bit. Add the nails and some detail, like muscle detail.
Then I will finish the metalic arm. (left arm)

u are maya user! :) very nice ...
also very nice character arsa!.. but i think that he should have thiner + longer tail! :)
dark-elf2 - Hey there mate! Thanks for your support!... regarding your comment: Yes its supposed to look different in some way... at least thats what I'm trying.
||) |V| |^| - Thanks mate and thanks for your message :) Happy Holidays for you too :D
glim - Thank you mate! The scout... yeah I like it how it turned out. And the character killion (not human) he is getting better. Texture will play long part in the look of the characters... I'm really exited to start working the textures.
markovicd. - Yeah! I'm a MaYa User! Regarding your message: I cannot understand you - you mean the shoulder is too thin? and need a longer tail? The shoulder I think is pretty thick and the tail is long enough were it doesnt bother the anatomy. (from my point of view)
- Cheers Everybody and Happy Holidays!

Hi ARSA,
Just come across this thread. Nice work! I like your concept art especially!
Your guy looks very good, only thing I can think to suggest would be to add some wrinkles to the shirt. :)
Can't wait to see more progress, keep it up! :)
Eagle_e7 - Hello there and thank you for the support. Regarding your suggestion: Like I said before I will add wrinkles to the shirt as soon as I'm finished with some other stuff I have to attend now (my son). Right now I'm awake because my son is in pain and cannot sleep. Is around 1:43 AM here. I don't have much time in these days. But as soon as he get back to normal (he's sick), I will finish the character.
- Thank you for your kind words too!

no arsa! ... the tail should be thiner! :)
Eagle_e7 - Thanks mate! And everybodys those prayers they really did good for my son, thank you. As for today the high risk is over... (let me not cheer too much, I gotta be ready for any changes)
keetmun - Yeah! Thanks Mate! Happy Holidays to you too.
Regarding your signature: I wouldn't go with Karen, besides we all need extra affection :D
markovicd. - Regarding the tail. I think the tail is something the artist will consider. I mean in my opinion. I created these races and specially this race has a very thick tail (the males) the female has two thin tails. So I personally I like it the way it is. Sorry I cannot do any changes. Thanks!
- Cheers Everybody!
