LoooooooL!
It's "boceta" and not "buseta", and that's Brazilian slang for errrr..., welll, vagina :D
I've seen it also written as "buceta".

Boas Paulo!
You have a nice concept there, but I think you should consider changing the "camera" position, because as it is, more than 50 % of the image is filled withe cliffs and water, when the focus should be more in the city itself IMHO.
keep it up!

its looking good, will you be using displacements for the Rock surfaces?
pBarrelas
10-25-2004, 08:27 AM
Yes, liquidminduk, i'll use displacement maps for the terrain. That's why i'm keeping a low poly count for it. I will only increase that number if it is really necessary for the effect that i'm looking for.

Wow, very nice spaceships concepts, the second one have big jet it is the only critique i would say, because it is connected throw small peice to the top part...
rock on this is going to be very cool.
wow nice environment design buddy
i like your first vehicle concept ... i'd play around a bit more with the second one, though.. the bottom part I assume is the engine, right now it seems to be overbalancing the whole
but looking sweet compared to my still scribbling my ideas on paper :)
also i'd be interested to know the story behind your idea..like what the civilization is like..why are they building that particular edifice on water...what's the driving force behind the picture etc...
pBarrelas
10-25-2004, 12:06 PM
Thank you guys for your opinions!!
I think that you're right, the second ship needs to be tweaked. The problem, in my opinion it's not the motor part in propotion to the body, but the juction between them.
As for the story behinde all my idea, forgive me for not have posted that, because to be honest...i forgot heh heh!! So here it is:
This is a colonie that were built by a man, the mastermind of a project called UTOPIA, that was a part of a emergency plan for a planet called Valk, that was having real problems with polution.
No ones wanted to take part in the construction of UTOPIA, becasue it was a too risky plan. It was to expansive and the target planet for it was too dry to construct a city and others behinde it.
This man, Orn Gara, had to arranje support between the rich people, to find money to support it's construction, and between the operary class, to obtain the right force for buit it.
Well his plan started with no government support, and he moved to the Nospyt planet to start the construction.
UTOPIA was finaly built, he was preparing the a big party to celebrate the realization of dream, he even would invite all the gorvenment guys that didn't support his idea, to demonstrate that it works and another colonies could be built, to save the Valk people from beeing extinct.
while Orn was making the preparations, Valk starts to get its temperature higher until it exploded and all the people in there died!!
So UTOPIA is the Valk people last redut and the genesis of a new civilization that embraces The Nature as it should be.
That is why, UTOPIA is a city that is in a desert but it's starting to bring life to it among with water.
I hope you liked the story behind my concept!!
Yeah! And probably give a good screenplay. Congats!

Unique design for the ship.
Have you given any consideration for the people of this stragne world near the sea? What kind of clothes they wear, what do their house look like.
Since this is a seaside image, are you considering including such details as the dark shadows from schools of fish near the water surface, or coral reefs, or indeginous animals to living the scene up?
The highspeed craft looks intersting, but I notice that it has no weapons.... what function does this ship play in this universe??
Keep up the good work.

WazaR
Thanks for your opinion! I'm glad you're liking it.
Since my final goal is a far view from the city, i'll not model any people. The people will reduced to tiny points to show the scale of this complex.
This ship is used by the Law & Order force, is like our police force. What they do mostly is to catch speedy guys inside UTOPIA limits. This is not an army force, which i'll not represent here.
Good idea aboute the dark shadows from schools of fish near the water surface, i never thought of that. I'll not represent any reefs of coral or stuff like that, because this city is very young and the impact that is having on nature is very soft by this time, and coral takes decades to form!!

Hi pBarrelas
I like a lot your design .. really cool ship .. the only thing that in my opinion seems quite out of place is that arc on the back of the ship; the ship seems quite aereodynamic and the two wings on the back enforce the impression that it has been built to work also in atmosphere (maybe I'm wrong) .. that perpendicular arc is than quite disturbing .. but probably I'm wrong .. anyway, cool design, I'll follow your thread to see more on this

I'm glad to know that you're liking this model. Yes that hole in the front is for air-intake!!
Orporick
I'm alsow glad that you liked this ship! You're right, it is a ship to move at vey high speed. I'ts desighn is for aerodynamic purposes in atmosphere but it can be used in outer space too.
The arc is to give more stability to the struture and to have a gun, because this is a mono-gun ship.
I really apreciate your opinon and i want you to critic my future images, but i'll maintain the arc, at least for now:) !

I'll make more 2 or 3 ship models. I know that they aren't the "state of the art" but my goal here is not to focus in ships design, but an entire scene where the ships have an important roll in order to help me setup the context of my final scene.
You can see that i tried to maintain a low level of poly count because of the final rendering times, which will be very high!!

looks good so far! I will suggest instead of stopping your terrain/mountains, where you are stopping them in th emiddle of the water "inside the water" try to keep them going and forming the bottom of the "river/lake/ocen" and having some rocks comming out of the water will help the visual effect as well..

hey im not sure if this has already been asked but are u gonna have some cables holding the landing pad up
because i think that would look cool and seeing the emense weight a ship will put on it i think it will need some way of holding it up.
i know its hard to have them out the top cause thats where the ships gonna go but maybe stick them out the sides a little

I know that in the first concepts, in this place i was going to make a waterfall. Right now i'll make a sort of a canal that goes deep inside the city structure, lets see if it will work fine. More updates soon!!

This is just a test render! I think that the canal worked pretty fine. This canal has two purposes, one is to serve water to the city and the other one is that the light can enter into subterrain buildings and illuminate them.

Although u say it's a test render...why it looks to me so cool....i like the way u are approaching in your concept....i haven't read this but i think u have to take some extra time when u come to the point of making the water shader...it's color is that element that will give the critical color filling to your scene i think...or am i wrong :bounce:
Keep working on it friend.... :deal:

Hey man, great work.
You can put new buildings inside the mountain with a panoramic view to the sea, and a research base under the wather, this is make the scene stronger showing the hyper high technologies.
Very nice, keep walking !

Deankovitch - thanks a lot for your opinion dude!! I was going to make some buildings that interact with the mountains, but after i finish to model the ones that you're seeing in the picture. I liked your idea for making a reseach base under the water, let's see if that will not colide with the type of image i'm looking for the final render.
Many thaks for your tips!!:)

You are sooo an architec the influeance of european arc. is obvious in your work.
Frist I will say that I seriously respect the skill of constructing arhcitecual structures. I am trying to build buildings for my comp, but let me tell you it is VERY HARD.
In regards to your buildings I have a specific critic. While visually appealing, your structures do not seem very partical. Or at least in the sense that they dont have doors, or windows, or other such pragmatic elements that would leave you to believe that people actually live there. In a sense it appears that your city is a "cardboard" architectual model for presentaition, instead of say a photograph of a city were humans reside. I would like to see windows, roads, stairs, atennas, cars, etc. etc.
Otherwise very good work!!
Buena suerte amigo....

Hey there!!!Great ideas and great architecture there man!!!Nice avatar too:D
Only thing is that for the moment the ships you made, even if they're really great dont' seem like they're a part of the same society as those buildings.
Maybe it could be cool to find back the style of architecture also in the design of your ships.
Anyway really great, and I sign in!!!
Good luck!!!

I really like the design of your city, especially the angular and strange shapes of the buildings. It's as if the architectural techniques of the people improved too fast for them, but they somehow managed to finish their buildings, and we we don't know how and why, but it stands still.
pBarrelas
11-17-2004, 09:27 PM
WazaR - Thanks a lot for your critic!! At the moment there is a lot to do in my city that may response to your critic. I can understand and accept what you're saying but my main goal here, is not to mimic an actual cityscape. What i want is to transmit to the viewer that my scene is in another planet, in another time. Given the scale of Utopia in my scene, its not important to model windows or doors. The important here is to share a vision that i have and simple details will not be crucial to share that vision. I make real projects all the time, i'm used to deal with details but here i want to have fun above all, and make something that i can't do in the real world.
I really apreciate your opinion and i want you to drop some more in my future updates.
Thanks again!!
OKMER - Heh heh thanks a lot for liking my avatar, its my face!!! Alsow i want to thank you for liking my work. You're so right about the ships. I was thinking exactly the same thing; i really think tha the ships are cool but they have to be redesigned to fit in the same context as the Utopia's architecture. Since i'll not change the type of architecture for this city, because i love to project...heh heh...i guess i'll have to post some updates about the ships. Thanks a lot for your opinion, you have a sharp eye, and stay tunned for nwu updates!!
sniffel - Thanks a lot for your support!!

Wah it looks so cool and its so uber low ploy HEH.
Its a really nice setting.
Is the water just a plane with reflection and transparcy as well as color?
Maybe a bump or displacement map from water will make it look more real?
Its a good thing I looked at this. It stops me from going too much Sub-D happy.
