View Full Version : Character: Good and Evil twins
Fedron 08-18-2002, 08:44 PM This are a couple of character i made for a low poly texturing comp i made in another site.
The tri poly count is less tha 4000.
The brief was a beatem all character. We had to make 2 sets of textures for one single model (no model changes were allowed, only some vertex tweaking for the face expression). One set had to show the model as a GOOD character and the other as a BAD one. Using the alpha channel for transparency was allowed, bump and specular maps too.
There is 2 pic they are quite heavy so wait a little.... Hope you like it :)

"I created them as twin brothers of different genders"
You wha'?? :surprised
Anyway, I like those models! I think the belly region looks a bit stretched but maybe its just the perspective and pose. I like the clothes and textures. Great detail in the ornaments.
What doesn't come across though is the good/bad difference in them. You said you could use different textures as long as the model stayed the same so you could have given the bad one different colors (maybe red instead of that blue), more of an angry face, different ornaments (more spikey perhaps?)
Great nonetheless!
[edit]
Argh, disregard the above. It took forever to load the pics and I thought the first one showed both the good and the bad.
Very nice how you made the other one male with the same model!

Hey Fedron, I commented to this before, I'm not sure why you deleted the thread, maybe I was to enthousiastic :p
Anyways, I'd still like to know where we can find some more about that challenge :D
I thought I red something about http://www.3dworldmag.com/ over at cgchat. Didn't find anything there though.
