I'm using IK Joe for 3dsmax. When animating the sway of the arms in a stationary walk cycle, I have trouble with the IK arms. It definitly dosn't look natural, because the elbows bend in wierd timing. This means if i want a smooth swing in the arms i have to key almost every frame. The only success I've had is creating extra bones and linking the IK points to it and just animating the new bones with FK. This works, but I don't like cheating like this. I mean, what if I wanted to animate the arms with IK in another animation.

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks

why not just switch the arms to FK, quite sure theres a Ik/FK switch.

Ya, I've been reading up in some manuals and that's an option, for sure. What do you think of using HD solvers instead. I havn't tried this yet, though.
