some ideas I'm meesing with

Some huge orbital station....wether its complete or not....not sure....surrounds the planet.
Either from a persons perspective or just from a camera.....I'll upload a few low res things I've tossed together for blocking/perspective etc.

this may change....just toying around now.... Might have it set up as a veiw from a person working on the outside of the RING....while ships are docking and leaving etc...looking out across the ring/planet/traffic etc..

***OK, Now I got them uploaded correctly through the Contest Site..../bonk***
***See below for images etc***

Basic Ship and Fighter Ideas are posted below....they were here...but I goofed and didnt "Submit" them through the Challange site...so I had to re-post them

Thanks for looking! CC anlways welcome!

And for Scale I'll leave this image, even though its not uploaded corectly...no sense uploading too many images through CGTalk.

You are progressing fast there mate..... That orbit station reminds me of Clark's Odyssey 3001...

Did you use the SUBMIT ENTRY to upload your images or just through the forum? I read in another thread that you should submit your images through here (http://www.cgnetworks.com/challenge/grandspaceopera/submit_entry.php) in order to qualify...
Just a mark there......

Just a quick render for camera angle testing and for a better feel of the scale and what I could or couldnt do with it etc..

The Ship needs work still as does the fighter...the ship however is based off of a Robotech RPG ship from the Sentinels series...incase anyone recognizes it....I will however be modifying it.

any thoughts?

thanks for looking and GOOD LUCK to ALL!!

Heavily Modified Fighter....wider body, bigger engines with additional side VTOL jets wider wingspan/additional section for more lift in atmosphers etc...

still, just some ideas....man, this is making it hard for me to sleep.....its 4:35am...akkk!

Looking at doing something more personal/human....something involving people...rather than simply ships etc.

This is a quick layout for a Grand Hall located inside a Ship, the troops rally for a pep talk.

I'll post some Troop sketchs later...

I like the idea of having all those folks in there :D... also it would be really cool to have some sort of hologram in the middle of the scene :D

- Cheers!

I would love to see the concept drawn out, even if you don't have great artistic talent, its always nice to see the entire concept illustrated.

good luck

thanks guys, I'll see how slow it is at work tonight....maybe I can draw more then. I might also post a image..but from the Speakers PoV.....while I like looking overthe sholders of all the troops....and having that large window in the back....I think it might be better to actually have a recognizable IE up close char in the scene....the speaker.....Plus there are windows on the sides too...

Ooooh, just got an idea. I'm not sure what the overall goal is on your project, but..just hear me out. What if in the forground there was "the thraiter". Lurking in the shadows, the guys who's planning the end to it all. And all the people behind him are unaware of his plans for global extinction.

peace

I am agree with Hiespike, there is nothing better that the pencil to express concepts, even if your are not so good drawing. anyway, your idea is cool, i like it, you should add other tipes of starships, this far I can recotnize only one figter spaceship.

Keep going.

Any more updates? It's looking promising -- grand, massive, operatic -- like the end of New Hope.

You have beautiful background! The concept looks great also. As the lighting test is concerned, I think it looks good, but a little bit too dark... will there be some red light in the back coming from the background?
