You bet. I have some big plans for this one. Space opera has been a regular part of my diet since 1989.

Here's hoping :)
Alright, here's the initial concept written out. There's a lot of work detailed here and it's not even the half of it, but I think I'll have the time, and I've always wanted to do something like this.
THE WAR ROOM
Clouds of flame bloom above the skies of the PLANET, the last freehold of the insurgent powers. In the WAR ROOM high above the surface, the resistance leaders gather to discuss their final, desperate strategy.
Taking center stage is PRINCE MANDAR. It has been twelve years since the assassination of his father that sparked his first act against the IMPERIUM, the destruction of the NREGNA TRADING SPHERE. Those years have weighed heavily on him, and white streaks show in his dark hair. He stares silently at the BATTLE MAP.
To his immediate right is LADY MAROSA, his consort. She stands close, worry drawing her features tight, also watching the MAP.
On the prince's left stands MARSHAL JACOBAN, commander of the insurgency's armed forces. His arms are crossed, his forehead creased.
Standing aloof and to the left is SUZERAIN GAJ, lord of the PLANET. His features are inscrutable, but there is little doubt among the assembly that he is reconsidering the wisdom of siding with the insurgency.
In a small group behind the PRINCE are the AN-JIN, an indigent species. They keep their own counsel.
The last figure of note in the room is WARREN LECKTOR, the seer. He too stands apart, but attention is drawn to him simply for his imposing stature. The various representatives gathered on the outskirts of the room whisper among themselves, wondering whether he has some final counsel that will turn back the IMPERIAL FLEET.
The BATTLE MAP shows a massive enemy FLEET engaging the smaller ships of the insurgency. Explosions flare, mirroring the ones that can be glimpsed out the windows of the tower.
The PRINCE has decisions to make. The last hours of daylight illuminate the room, throwing the scar on his face in sharp relief. Soon night will fall on this world - and on the entire galaxy.

Just making some quick sketches to get an idea of the environment. Most of this stuff won't show up in the final image, it's just background.

Started modeling the prince, painted in some details to get a feel for the volume. The head mesh is pretty basic, so I painted some of the features in.
(And yes, I changed the name from Mardan to Mandar. More pulpy.)

One of the spaceships that will be seen on the holo-map. At least, I think it'll be a hologram. Maybe something even cooler will come up.
