Title: Concept Racingcar
Name: Lars Mårtensson
Software: 3ds max, VRay
This is a conceptcar i designed myself.
Made in 3dsmax, rendered with vray
(ground is made with vray displace)
the back of the car
Hey, I don't normally get excited for car renders, but I love the concept.
What even gets me going more is the detail of the ground.. Stunning.
Great job man. Well done.

nice render..and concept! it looks so real...great work...do you have interior designs for this baby yet?...i want a car like thi!
10-18-2004, 07:58 AM
If i were a lady, I'd give my virginity to you!man, I like your car!great render!
can you share your ground materials/settings?
btw, how long did this one render and what machine are you using?
10-18-2004, 08:46 AM
:) Nice Shapes.. I like it :P
10-18-2004, 08:56 AM
I really like this concept, great modelling and render for this work.
10-18-2004, 09:07 AM
Fantastic work on this one. :D
10-18-2004, 11:19 AM
Yop,:bounce: It's a good work, it's superb, I like much his aggressive design, personally... Returned is super clean, lives V-ray!!! :buttrock:
10-18-2004, 12:15 PM
Schyssta grejer!
I LOVE the rain drops! They add a bit of noise/chaos to the otherwise very smooth/clean shape of the car. Very nice rendering! The lighting is very realistic!
I think maybe the choice of camera angle is a little odd - I'd place it a bit higher. It feels like the view is from the eyes of a person who is sitting on the ground. Maybe tilt the camera upwards a bit, placing the car more of in the middle of the picture? Also, the parts of the car closest to the camera (in both pictures) I find a bit too dark - I can't see the details :( in my opinion it would be better to let the sunshine hit the parts of the car that are facing the camera ...
Anyway, these are my direct impressions... you might want to ignore them ;) Really nice work!!
10-18-2004, 12:16 PM
Nice looking render and concept for racing car.
10-18-2004, 01:32 PM
DAAaaamn.. that's one hot car... I love the environment you put it in and the reflection of the car in the puddles of water, it looks like you even put little beads of water on the car.. superb!!
10-18-2004, 01:50 PM
mamamia thats a hot concept and a very cool rendering
I agree with the others, amazing work, very beautiful.
And the asphalt is so real and nice with the water, could you give a couple of details on the asphalt, it looks really nice with the wet glossiness look you put up there.
Very good man!!
very good consept. I like your design. and waterin land is cool. the car is real monster. I want drive it. :buttrock:
10-18-2004, 03:44 PM
RENDER looks so REAL!!!
What's the car name (is it a Saab :) ) ?!?!?!
Show us a few WIRES!!
10-18-2004, 06:30 PM
nice render and design
10-19-2004, 01:03 AM
Awesome Car , one of the coolest "original" designs I've seen here for a long time.
Keep it up dude .
10-19-2004, 10:01 AM
wonder why thid didnt do frontpage
10-19-2004, 10:15 AM
nice render man!
I had a car from Prodrive once...
10-19-2004, 04:40 PM
Please open one door, so we car see the interiors. Very realistic render... It´s only me or the back view is a bit blured? (I mean the car)
and a wire as someone asked for.
10-21-2004, 04:50 AM
Can I ask you,how did you get this great looking asphalt+water ???
10-21-2004, 11:40 AM
Grade A rendering - the use of the water gives it a boost over the usul renderings of vehicles. Def. front page material!
10-21-2004, 12:44 PM
Superb quality render, the water really adds to the realism!
The asphalt part is quite a beautiful work. This looks to me like a nice composite map with finely adjusted bumps and masking for the water. Very nice!
damn... impressive... nice job compositing and the reflection of the car....! son, do another 1 or 2 and you have this as a crazy part of your demoreel for the first 20 seconds blow them away.haha.
11-07-2004, 06:06 PM
Very impressive and inovative design, nice concept! The render is something else; simply
fantastic! Like others, how about a little "how to" info on the water puddles? Congratulations
on a job well done!
In my first post i wrote " the ground is made with vray displace"
So if you have vray it´s not that hard to make at all :)
11-08-2004, 12:39 AM
I`m like Vray render,it`s exllent
11-09-2004, 06:36 AM
Awsome modeling but to tell the truth i'm more interested in the gound, wet pavement then the car.
11-10-2004, 03:50 AM
the front doesnt look like its very aerodynamic for a racecar, but the lighting and modeling is awsome.
11-10-2004, 10:20 PM
Whoaaa, nice car dude.
The only crit I can see, is that the frames in the front (Supporting the grills), looks a bit like plastic, try to make em' chrome (If you do, the front will almost look like the new Audi thoug  )The same thing goes for the wheels try puttin' some chrome on it.
Keep up the good work -
11-10-2004, 11:17 PM
Very Nice! In addition to the car looking good, excellent follow through with the background environment, nice touch with the wet ground.
Karsten: i do not want totaly crome parts on this car, it´s not supposed to
be a blingbling crapy car ;)
traptinmyself113: if you would put a, lets say DTM racingcar beside this one,
you will see that the front on my car is lower than the DTMcar,
so i think it would work to race with this one also :)
11-11-2004, 11:05 PM
Perfect!! Very beautifull:thumbsup:
11-12-2004, 10:22 AM
Wow. That's some great work
Only thing I can notice is that the rims look a little... Pale... Or something. They just seem a little off.
11-12-2004, 07:27 PM
Well, you don't have to make em' all chrome, just a bit more shiny then, plz? :wavey:
11-13-2004, 12:43 PM
fantastic. i love the ground. i wonder if i can do the same with cinema4d...

very nice model! The ground is so real!
if you increace more highlight, the feeling of metal must be more real...
11-17-2004, 07:43 PM
VERY VERY GOOD
11-19-2004, 05:55 PM
Really nice, like the overal shape, curious to see what the driver's view would be from a forward visibility standpoint. The virtual ground efx color (red) and redwall tires work really well.
The render is beautiful.
11-21-2004, 09:09 PM
I like the hyperpaint look. Not quite a painting, not quite a 3D rendering. The ground looks amazing, with the puddles and all. So what is that, a Volvo? :)
11-22-2004, 03:53 AM
...and the winner is Grid with his high profile low profiles.
Totally stunning job. What method did you use for the wet ground?
11-23-2004, 11:57 PM
Well I guess I don't need to give praise as all those before have already done so...
A bit of feedback would be good, eg. render time, modelling style & environment setup.
Love the super low profile tires & the ground. How many concept cars have you modelled??
rendertime was about 1hour, (2h on the one with DOF) on a 3,2 ghz
ground is made with vray displace, so i guess it´s using a few 100k polys for the asfalt.
I´ve done a few conceptcars now, and some real ones to.
11-27-2004, 04:43 PM
You have done a great job !!
Good materials, good light, very good idea to use a wet floor and rain drop on the car. :applause:
Waiting for you next project !!! :p
11-28-2004, 12:55 PM
Here in Nairobi we would call it ,"Ndai ya nguvu", meaning a superb car.I like its environment it makes tha whole master piece realistic.i need tips from you coz its so futuristic that i feel like am in tha next century.keep on keepin' on.
11-28-2004, 01:16 PM
That thing is sweet. Better design than any i have seen in video games and such.
11-28-2004, 03:38 PM
Very nice concept and design....the ground texture is amazing btw~ Great job
11-28-2004, 03:45 PM
i like the concept of the car but reminds me of an old video game on the old playstation called S.C.A.R.S i love it
11-29-2004, 03:05 PM
great job on the car i love but in you new renders it seems that the tires are dry and the floor is wet. just thought you should know.:scream:
12-02-2004, 09:06 PM
You've won my desktop wallpaper selection!
12-06-2004, 02:54 PM
The water and asphalt, is really good,...
gives the car a very realistic feel. :)
12-07-2004, 12:02 AM
I want that car... =T... just so believable. blew me away:thumbsup:
12-07-2004, 12:23 AM

12-13-2004, 11:55 AM
Nice with some swedish in the top... snygg bil
12-20-2004, 07:44 PM
Ouch ! You strike hard : it's a stunning rendering !
Maybe It could have been nice to see better the reflection of the car in the water...
12-23-2004, 07:30 PM
You have the honor of recieving my first post :)
I just wanted to say that people like you will be the ones that create the future of cars to come.

AMAZING ART WORK so realistic just wanna get in and drive off.
02-26-2005, 01:23 AM
I cant believe that this is a model and not a real pic. Excellent job. How did you do the lighting in the scene?
03-01-2005, 05:56 PM
Really cool, like maximizing on wheelbase.
03-03-2005, 07:35 PM
Hi, i really love this render and i think that's a fabulous work !
But can you give our some details about making this sort of ground ....
i've the same just front of my house !
Good job and thank you for your answer.
03-24-2005, 04:00 PM
It looks very animated I like the style
04-24-2005, 08:25 PM
Looks ace, but the grey bits on the front and back give the impression they're not textured. Chrome them up baby > like the rims!
05-22-2005, 04:25 AM
06-27-2005, 12:50 PM
model is good .. but :buttrock: textures and render COOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLL

08-10-2006, 04:45 PM
Fantastic design, I love the geometry of the car and the possibility of this car ever being developed seems believable. The render's great too, it has a very 80's marker-feel to it. Great piece of work well -done!
