In my scene, RoboCop has just been thrown through glass doors, and I'm cutting to a shot of him getting up off the floor. While he's getting up, steam is rising off of him, because he's all messed up...

The steam and particle cloud are done, and look great. the only problem is that the emission of steam particles only happens when i start playing the timeline.

I know there's a way to have emission start before frame 0 but I can't seem to remember where it is/how it's done.

Anyone out there have any insight? Thanks in advance for your help!

Just modify 'Start frame' in attribute editor>Time attributes, cache your particles and render from where you want.
