I had xsi 2.0.2 installed and then i was hard up for disk space so i uninstalled but when i try to re install i get 3 errors 2 internal errors and 1 unknown error any idea how to fix this?

are you sure that you removed all the old files?
what about installing it to a different directory or different hard disk.?

i get 2 errors while setup trys to start

internal failure:
error number:0x80040707
description:

then the same message again

I go through setup and desination folder is
softimage
no correct path just softimage
Ive tryed changing to c:\
but i still get the same error afterwards
componet transfer error
unknown error

What OS are you using? Did you check to see if it was still in the add/remove programs section? Do you still have the SPM service turned on?

not on unilstall list there are no softimage, xsi, and the only spm files are
SPMSET~1.EXE-2E1DD74C
mspmspsv.dll
spmsg.dll
those are in my system 32

SERVICES_SPM_7-12-2001_02-22-24.backup
in my drivers

im on xp pro

Ok so your saying SPM service is not running on the system correct did you verify this from the services menu?

if you type regedit look at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Softimage

if softimage is there delete it.

make sure u have deleted the old installation folder. like "c:\softimage"

well the folder was there; I deleted it but still the same error messages

Call 1-800-387-2559.. I don't know what else I can do on my end.
if you have a D: drive try installing it there.
