When it's ready i guess. Like Bjorn said when he released the last version. He's not spending as much time on Wings as he used to. So, he does it mostly when he's free, and feels like Winging. So, till then. We'll have to wait. :p

I know Bjorn is "taking a vacation" from wings, but aren't there two developers (I think) that kept the project going?

The guys are probably getting ready for Wings' 3rd birthday (18th Oct) - so they're testing a few 4 packs beforehand :)

A.Ra's got it in one, I'd say - when they're ready - if you check the prog / plug forums at ODF you'll see that stuff's been happening anyway (I assume you've d/l and checked out the Intersect plugin?).

They've been busy real-life as well - just consider yourself lucky it's not me doing the coding - I'd have a (nother) day / week off every time someone asked stuff like this :)

ha ha ppaul.

Thanks for your explanation.

I know those guys are continuing the development.

I just am getting too "nervous", I know I have to wait, but i'm "tired of waiting" (no critique intended) because I've become some sort of a wings addict he he he

Beste regards

<< wings addict >>

Well ... you're certainly not alone :)

The 'Wings' room at the local clinic certainly has a lot of visitors / inmates - both long-term hardcore cases and overnight visitors...

ps. As I mentioned earlier - 18th Oct is the 3rd birthday of Wings public release - in these 3 yrs, d/loads have increased from a couple of hundred for 0.80 to 40k+ (0.98.22c) - I'm sure others will join me in saying 'thanks' to all the people who made it happen and have therefore made the great app that we use today?

Yes,thanks.

It also coincides with the new cgt challenge so let's take it up for a ride shall we?

Again, thanks to all who contributed and still do for making the best modeler out there,in all humility... :)

Me 2.

THANKS for sutch a great modeler, so easy to use and learn, and for all the time and effort all contributors spent on i, with special incidence on Bjorn (of course).

I'm proud to be a (not that active :D ) part of this community.

Best regards.

Maybe paying up would speed up the process :D

Paying doesn't give us more spare time, If you don't pay a couple month salaries so I can take a break from work :-)
You can pay because you think we have done a good job, but paying wont bribe us doing things different from what we have planned.

A new release is on the way, i.e. we have started coding again, what was the original fix you were waiting on anyway, I have forgotten :-)

Those are indeed very good news! :buttrock:

Keep it up, and thanks for all your effort and good work.

I wonder if any of the programmers are banging their head on the monitor trying to figure out how to make a workable heirarchy (or at least a way to reorder items in the geometry graph.) Supposedly it requires yet another major rewrite. If indeed that is the next big step, then it'll be a long time before the next release is seen. (Unless somebody comes up with something really clever that doesn't break the functionality of the other stuff.)
