CGTalk - How do you do this?

I have my sword made for my character, I looked at the gnomon tutorial and i had a little trouble following what the guy was saying.

How do you make it so the guy can pull the sword out of the scabber, can soemone help me with this ASAP, thanks.

I just finished following that gnomon tutorial again, what a waste of time, does anybody have better suggestions lol

waste of time? I think the gnomon tutorial is great and if you download the biggest one you can see anything you need
