This is actually a general 3D question but then I'm using Lightwave.

How to create a clock that turns by itself according to a real clock?

Do you just want the hands to turn, or do you want gears and stuff inside it as well?

There is a tutorial somewhere thats explains useing expressions to calculate the math to turn the model at a rate comparable to a real clock.Maybe it was at the newtek site at which I had seen this......its been a while but this has been asked before and there are tutorials that discuss this issue.........uh....somewhere...lol

Just the hands would be sufficient enough :)

The big one moves 360 degrees in one hour (3600 seconds). So if you are rendering at 25 fps that will be 3600*25 for 360 degrees. thats all.

Oh, yes: the small one moves 6 degrees in one hour.

Thanks a bunch jabbermike!

How about the second pointer?

Thanks a bunch jabbermike!

How about the second pointer?

The big hand (minutes) moves 360 degrees in one hour and the small one (hours) moves 30 (360 degrees / 12 hours) degrees in one hour. And the hand for seconds moves 6 degrees in a second (21600 degrees in one hour).

Jabbermike's advise is the simplest solution for your problem but he did a slight mistake in his calculations. :)
