Argg I can't belive I can't get this working I'm trying to get all selected vertex to snap in one line on a gird and remain the same on all other axis I though you just had to do grid snap with the contraint on for the axis you want to line up in but that doesn't seem to be working HELP!!!

Use the move tool, make sure its attributes are set to world.
Then hold down "x" and move the vertices.

snapping to grid won't work if the move tool is set to local (i think).
