View Full Version : Why does my walk cycle stall like that?

Ok here is the problem. I've always been taught to end an animation with the first key frame, for example at the end of my walk cycle I end the foot in the same position as in the begining. I have always done this. My question, and problem is that i always seem to get a split second stall at the end of the animation. Is there any way to remedy this, or do i have to do some special animation technique that i am not aware of? Any help, or pointing to the right direction would help greatly! Thanks in advance!

say you have a cycle from frame 0 to frame 12. Make 0 and 12 exactly the same but cycle from 0 to 11. That way it should work

I would think that if you repeat the cycle you would be doing two of the same steps because the end and the beginning are the exact same so that step would lag one frame. Not sure though since i am new to animation and suck at it, but I do know that our eyes can catch that little repeat in motion an it would look like lag. I would think you might make the last step similar but not the exact same as the first step so the last step moves to the first step.

if above post doesn't help... check ur in/out tangent at the very begining and end, they should be the same.
