View Full Version : Mental Ray won't render when file texture applied

I have UV mapped my scene, which consists of 3 builds and 2 spheres (the spheres are used for sky colour and FG, and there is GI in the scene. While using a standard checker map on every object in the scene, it renders nicely, as soon as I apply a file texture (from photoshop) and click render, it just loads the last render into the scene and stops. I don't tend to use mental ray, I think I'm remembering why.

Any ideas?

can maya display the apllied texture in the viewport ? which file format did u use for the texture?

the file format *.tiff and it is 2k square (layers were turned off on the save as out of photoshop).

Press 6 does display the texture in the viewport.

Make sure you don't save it with LZW compression, mental ray has problems with .tiffs sometimes. Try saving it out as an iff or something else.
