Howdy,

I'm trying to figure out how to use the Peeler Tool but I'm not having much luck with it.

I haven't found much about it in the documentation but what I did find sounds interesting.

Has anyone used it yet?

It's works on simple objects, like a cylinder. You define a few seams for it to follow and then use UV Peeler to drag out the area of the map in the UV viewport.

Haven't had much luck on more complex objects, like with the Invader Zim model I'm working on:

There isn't much in the documentation about the tool....a tutorial video would be great! ;)

Ditto :)

Not had any useable results out of it so far. Then again I haven't a clue what I'm doing with it :D

The unwrapping of the cylinder still isn't quite right. I don't see where it unwraps the top/bottom caps, or did you not specify them?

For complex models like the Invader Zim model, what if you physically slice the geometry into seperate pieces - like the old school manual unwrapping technique - then define the seams on each peice?

It's actually using the select edge as the seam, so it's not peeling the entire model, only the poly's that go in a straight line from the edge back around to itself. This version of the peeler is only for basic models, we're in the process of making a much more powerful one.
