Skylab Entertainment is a video game studio located in beautiful Austin, Texas dedicated to creating the next generation of interactive entertainment. Founded by industry veterans, Skylab develops games for the Playstation 2, Xbox and Nintendo Gamecube.

Skylab is looking for talented individuals with a passion for games to join our uber creative art department. Candidates must have a strong background in traditional art with at least 2-3 years of experience using MAYA in the game development or film industry. No offense to beginners, but we don't have the time to train new artists. We need an industry veteran who can hit the ground running from day one.

Senior 3D Character Artist / Animator:

- Primarily responsible for modeling and animating characters in Maya as well as working with the Creative Director to lead the Art team.
- Strong traditional art skills a MUST! (Traditional Animation, Figure Drawing, Character Design/Concepts, Painting and Sculpting.)
- Texturing of characters is not a requirement, but a BIG PLUS.
- Console development experience a big plus!!
- Must be very creative with the ability to adapt to changing game styles.
- 2-3 years minimum experience as a Lead 3D Artist/Animator in games or related Industry.
- Excellent team communication skills a must.
- Portfolio submission showing traditional art skills is REQUIRED to be considered for this position.
- Demo Reel showing your 3D character modeling, texturing/skinning and animation is required.
- NO Motion-capture animations will be accepted.
- Relocation to Austin, TX is required.
