CGTalk - depth of field

I want to connect a locator to my depth of field settings so that the depth of field is always "correct". I know I have to connect it to the focus distance (if I'm not wrong), but I can't find a attribute which fits to this? :shrug:

or do I have to create an expression which calculates the distance between camera and locator and than connect this to the focus distance?

or would you add the DOF in the composing program?

its under the cameras SHAPE! node.
not the camera node but the shape one. :)

heres an edit.

use a 2 node camera (camera and aim)
in the connection editor use the camera groups distance between node and hook it up to the camera shape nodes focus distance.
thats what i do.
