nice start, taking good shape and it'll be good to see this one progress.

just a few of the usual questions: what is the head for? you mentioned uni but do you want to animate it and such? how do you plan on texturing your head?

keep up the good work!

cheers,

Nathan.

hey!!

the head is for a uni brief.
codemasters came in and gave us a profesional practice brief to model and texture a photo-real version of yourself. poly limit 2000 poly's.
it has to be textured with photo's. ( so yeah, i need to get some better photo's but can't get them done until next week.) 512x512 targa.

they don't specify as to whether the face needs to be animated but it has to be modelled in a way that would allow it.

thanks for the replies.

cheers!!

hey!!

here is an update .
this is actually the 2nd attempt at the body.
they said that the first one wouldn't deform properly so i had another go at it.

i know the arms look a little bit naff and that will be the next thing that i fix.
also the bottom of the jeans need a little crumpling.

it's a bit over budget already though so i think i will need to cut down on some of the creases and such. tho i will probably keep this model and use it for normal mapping if i get time.

does anybody know of a good tutorial for rigging low poly characters?

any crits or comments are welcome.

cheers!!

hey!!

here is the model fully textured.

it's not yet complete. the textures still need some work, so this is by no means finished.

just thought i would get some input from you guys.

cheers!!

great modeling, but i dont really like the textures on the face, fix those lips, add some smoothness to texture area that divides the lips/skin area, it's too sharp.

hey!!

yeah i see what you mean. it's the smoothing groups not the texture that are making it look too sharp. without them tho it looks really weird. think i might add some thin poly's in there to give a smoother shadow.

cheers!!

hey!!

here is another update.
changed loads of things since the last time i posted.
textures have been redone. changes have been made to allow for better deformation.
basically just cleaned up the model and done loads of little bits here and there.
so here it is for you to check out. don't forget to let me know your thoughts.

cheers!!
