good job. I'd be careful about the lighting and color choices. If the light in front of him is that strong there has to be a cast shadow from the book thrown across his face. also just composition wise, he seems squeezed in, and the background light out the window doesn't really seem to be affecting the rest of the image. Nice job though, I like the decisiveness on your strokes and the darkness in his clothes. It sets the mood well.
