Hey,

I'm trying to get a sharp stoke around some text. About 5-6 pixels deep, like this example:

Of course, edit>stroke gives the stroke round edges, even around sharp corners, and I do not want this.

Thanks for any help!

Do it manually.

Choose the text you want and then make a layer underneath. Use the Polygonal Lasso tool

http://pink-socks.com/shmack/poly.jpg

Manually make your selection, then color that selection with a background, or foreground color by hitting alt+delete or ctrl+delete (alt = foreground, ctrl = background [pc]) or ctrl+delete or apple/command+delete on a macintosh system(apple=foreground, command=background).

This way you can also choose what YOU want the border to look like.

Hope it helps.
That's what I'd do if i wanted that effect :)

Thanks, I thought of this but hoped for an easier way. Thanks again though!

Edit: This won't really be a consistant method though.

There is no quick and easy way to do this in Photoshop. There is one however in Illustrator.
