awsome work man. i love this style great lighting.
excellent piece! Love the birds, leaves and light.
Design of the knight are also top, because they are just plain and simple.
No fantasy armour etc.
I'm a bit puzzled by the monster's tail though. Where does it go?
Classical but original style. Great study of colors and lights, a really good work.

Very nice painting!
I would like the see the monster emerging from a darker shadow. I think it would look more interesting, right now the whole painting looks too placid to have a monster in it. But that is just my personal preference.
Awesome technique.

thanks all for viewing.
art2..........the monsters tail actually loops behind the left pillar ruin and up. that is what the guy on the left is looking at as it beginning to move through the leaves up where he is.
jose...........placid is the point!!...danger lurks everywhere even the 'safest' of places : )
cheers mates

a very very fine picture!... You have a real good sense of drawing on the characters, and the lighting, enhanced by the birds, is perfect!... oh, and it's not a critic, but I suppose I would love the same picture, without the monster, too... bravo!...

I hardly reply to plugged work, but for this I make an exception, because I find the way of painting exceptional. Especially the texture of the work is awesome, crisp at places and blurred at others, which makes it overall, appealing for the eye. Your use of light in service of the composition, allthough not unique, is great too. A very good executed work !

Heh, there is a new RPG game? :o I need to keep in touch with the real world I guess.
Nice work. I love the atmosphere. Good work.

Congrats mate.
I really love the contrast of terror in a calm setting you achieved here. Is this a new piece Rick?

Great piece! The composition, concept and technique are excellent. The only crit I would have is the rendering of the creature. It doesn't seem grounded into the picture as well as some of the other elements. It's hard for me to tell if it's leaning against the embankment, or just coiled up like a snake? Hope that makes sense? Keep up the great work!

Beautiful atmosphere and lighting, I especially like the sneakery of the creature, and how it's poised to strike! My little nit-pick would be the wizard's hood, it looks rather thick. It's a minor detail, but I just look at things like that.
Nicely done!

Very nice work:applause:
Your style gives a pleasure to look. I don't agree crits about brigthness of the creature. It looks very realistic. The knights and the birds are match with the rest.
And i like the blurness of your style.
Congratulations
Keep good work.

I like how some areas seem almost impressionistic. Overall there is still a great amount of detail of course, but it seems that some areas are chosen above others for the specifics. Unique style, I really like it.

looks good dude the only thign that irks me is if you are tryign to make the focus the guys in the background you should make the bg darker, or the chars darker because as of righ tnow the dude on the left, his head is almost eh same color, and the guy in the middle his rodes are damn near the same, throw in a dark sploth or somthign to brign out a littel contrast in the pice. other then that it looks great -M

superb. I can't find anything to fault with this (by my amateurish eyes of course)
I will be doing something like this in my course too - i hope what i do turns out as good as this :)
Could easily be a totally stand-alone piece.

great shot, I was just back in Philidelphia and got to see a ton of N.C Wyeth's art work this is a great study and lighting . try throwing a dark shadow in the foreground it will call the first read of the image to the knights and then looming in the dark with glints of light from your streaming sunlight would be the creature, you will also find it will pull the foreground forward and give more punch and depth to the image. doing lighting studies of your composition sketch will help in finding out different ways to go.
