this is my first attempt at matte painting... it doesn't completely satisfy me :hmm: , so I'm seeking advice to make it more convincing...
The matte should be the background of the big guy you see in the middle, basically the Gundam will be standing there under enemy fire, at the moment I just pasted a quick preview render and the perspective is off, it's just to show where the action takes place...

should I add some blur or remove the rubble in the foreground??

maybe a bit of blur would be good. normally you wouldn't be able to focus both on the foreground and the robot. one of them should be blurred! I guess it'll have to be the foreground rubble?! Oh and the robot looks like he's standing on tilted ground which dips in front of him. This could be intentional, i don't know.....
Good otherwise. I like your sky and background. keep up the good work!

the robot's perspective doesn't match yet so it appears a bit tilted... I'll try to blur a bit the forground rubble
