Title: Closer To Mars
Name: Adrian Saturno
Country: Venezuela
Software: 3ds max

Hi There! This is a proyect that I've been working on lately and finally has come out. I did this work couse I like things that shows spaces and uncommond Environments.

Done with 3dsmax 6 and the Defauld Scanline Render. The Water was done with a simple Plane with several sub-divisions, and then I aplied a variety of texture maps like Smoke, Noise, Bump and Refraction to acomplishe the final look, and I added Fog with a gradient map for the background, the other objects were done with simple shapes and textures.

Please feel free to post Comments... Thanks!

looks awesome. i am a fan of the spacey environments too. would look damn cool to see the water moving . or a planet/moon of your creation.

Nice effect you got with gradient map, Did you use a star map -> dark-blue map for it?

Excellent work.
The only thing that distracts me is that the scene does not have horizon.
It seems like the planet was floating on the water and not in the space. I think ...need more perspective on the water...

En general creo que te ha quedado muy bien, solo te recomiendo que el agua tenga mas perspectiva, para que se vea mas profundidad en la escena.

Gran trabajo felicidades:thumbsup:

looks great, though i would have expected to see more of the planet reflected in the water.

Hey !
Nice piece of work, I like this kind of picture !

I do agree with Coolhand, about the planet's reflection in the water.
Also, I think you should play with the antialiasing filters, to find one that 'smooth' the water, to get rid of this pixel effect on the foreground...
But otherwise, great picture !

Love it.
great atmosphere.. i find great aw in cosmic images and this one, though it doesn't quite qualify as such an image, inspires the same aw in me.
