*Lets try something different. Paint this like a painting for a production desing dept for a movie.

Welcome to the cgtalk sketch group.

We will try to post one of these topics once a day for your enjoyment.

These are the rules:
* Post only your FINAL piece on this thread, based on the topic on the thread.
* 640 x 480 / 480 x 640 OR 800 x 600 /600 x 800
* They can be done on any medium.
* If you wish, you can add a brief text description about your piece.
* Only original compositions. No "tributes" or plagiarizing.
* The topics will be posted every day between 10:00 - 12:00 am US EST.
* The artist also has to post total length of time it took (Thanks Clanger for the idea) and program used.
* Only final pieces can be posted on the thread. They must have been done AFTER the topic has been announced.
* Any piece caught breaking the rules will be taken off the thread.
* The topics will be picked at random from the list on this thread
(The author will be given credit). So guys keep them coming.
*You can add multiple entries, but please dont post WIP (Unless you intend to update them). NEW RULE!
* Ill post ANOTHER thread to quantify and track WHO has participated the most on these threads.

Good luck

-Roberto

Roberto, did you intend this to be another production design painting, or was it left over from the last topic? Just wondering.

Hey there CGtalkers... Some great work from you guys this week! I haven't managed to do any for a few days as I lost my Wacom stylus (Grr) then got lost in a haze of a Supermarket branded version of Jack Daniels with MVP (how's the head mate?) and immersed in Metal at a Slayer/Slipknot gig...

Anyway, upon my return to conciousness, I found this link nestled in my inbox amongst the spam and I thought you fellow artists would appreciate it...

Hope you all had good weekends too!

Later

PS I have found my wacom stylus!! Woohoo!!

that's cool! I'm really wondering how they did that.. Just check at the pic they did for this animation in the parent folder, and you'll easily understand how it was done!!! Really good job by the way!!

That is just hilarious!!

ilikesoup - I think you need to revive your Hollywood sketch and make a couple of choice changes and it would fit this topic too! :)

once again i grace the thread with my not-so-hot mouse drawing skillz.

http://www.mtwirefree.net/kbilling/vegas.png

and i will never go back there again
the tourists and the army men
the prostitutes this evening
will start to sink under my skin
the dust and sand is what they sell
the flashing lights and ringing bells
our wish as far as i can tell
inside this dried up wishing well..

1hr, photoshop 5, mouse.

i need a tablet.

i originally would have liked to have the BG a bit blurrier, maybe a bit brighter, with people (and looking a bit better), with someone walking towards the viewer, out of it all, maybe in shame... you know, have the "welcome to fabulous las vegas" sign in the foreground, behind the guy who's leaving. oh well. i'm not good enough to do that, and i have to be to bed soon if i want to be able to get up at any decent time tomorrow...

Vitriolic - Love it! Elvis has NOT left the building!

DrakeX - great idea, amazing mouse work! I don't have that kind of patience to do it with a mouse - really good job!

Captain Chapo - nice line work, looks like a post card

Telemaco - come on red....come on red.... fun idea!

captain chapo- Looks like a postcard.
Vitriolic- Sweet!
DrakeX-Like the neon feel
Robinayles again- Nice! As I recall I lost over 2000 dollars in Texas Hold-Em that night.

Ha Ha! Robin that's very funny. We've all been there... I know I have!!

Vitriolic, also very funny. Great caricature dude!

Zem, if you still have any of those pics of Ms Dunst left, i wouldn't mind one of those bad boys!!

I wish I had time to do a pic but I am busier at work than a footballer locked in a brothel!!
(Not that there's much point in doing one coz it will only be blown out of the water by Taron anyway *sulk* )

Later sketchers!

Great pic, Ton! Guess Goro got suckered into that one. I mean, no gorilla with any self respect would be seen dead that close to Britney. Jane Goodall on the other hand, or Fay Wray...

Sorry, I sold the pics of Ms. Dunst on Ebay to a guy who called himself SpideyMaguire. Got a good price too. :)

You can't trust anyone these day can you Zem?
Looks like old SpideyMaguire has posted them on the web already...

Hm not many people posted this time... I am glad I could make it
2 hours, Photoshop and mouse, used reference for the girl, car I drew and then scanned (reference too)... if I find more time I will continue to work on this for a while because it needs some fixing, I just need to step away from it for a while

robin: believe me -- it's trying. :P and hurts.

zem: thanks, that's kind of what i was going for - everything outlined in neon lights, but still looking quite empty, like Vegas is.

Hi, my name is Ilikesoup and I have a hard time drawing cars.

While other avatars may Fear and Loathe us here in Vegas I believe they are all just jealous that there is no more room for them in my car. BTW, robinayles strapped herself to the hood. That's Mustardwash's story and he's sticking to it.

I'm glad to hear you say that I'm strapped to the hood, for a minute there I thought you'd
gone for extra points, ran me over, and I was just stuck in the grill. HA! And for the record,
MustardWash got tired of me kicking him in the back of his seat, so he strapped me down using that all purpose tool, duct tape!

ilikesoup - I really like this one, I think its one of your best so far, and def. my favorite! :)
