So this is just to get my artsy skills warmed up
Not to sure what to do with the driver yet..
I'll be updating this once I get 3dsmax.. it's in the post. Should come to my door on tuesday :)
So I'll start modelling it then.
The vehicle is inspiered by the tank from StarCraft, with four tracks

thanks for the positivities fellow peers :)
Still waiting for max so I wooped this up.. Ok, so it was done in 20 minutes and is imensely rough. But it does the job for me I think..
Think I managed to work out the drivers place..
Im kinda going for one of those HOOOGE monster dumpsters industrial feel only in a gun :)
Can't wait to start modelling this thing..http://www.matsm.com/misc/vehicle2.jpg

Finally got my max :)
The last version I used in uni was 5, so now I have some crunch time since that was quite some time ago. Anyway, just modelled a very quick model of the vehicle.
Doesn't look half bad, but Im not spending too much time on this, cause as I said, it's just a warmup. I'll modell some more today, and then maybe do textures during the week while brainstorming for the big cg challenge thats coming tomorrow
anywho, heres the picture

Oh, and I keep writing stupid spelling mistakes, please ignore them. It's because there is to much clutter on my desk now.. what an excuse :)

Cooking on steam now
Modelling after one day,
Im happy with the soldier for now, start on adding detail over the week to the vehicle
Tried slapping some textures on it today, but it just looked awful cause they were just pictures of rust..
I was looking at other peoples work, so much really good stuff. Im definately stealing some modelling and texturing ideas and techniques from other people :) haha

Why is there a pistol sight on the end of the cannon? It looks bizzarre - like a giant gunman will pick it up and look / aim down it....
I think you need more reference on tanks and cannons. The bore is also impossibly huge - the cannon must take shells with a 4-5 feet diameter! If so, where are they stored, how are they loaded? Is its size really beneficial to its current situation / warzone?
Sorry to be so anal, but you must first have to think of the practicalities of something before you design it. Military things rarely look cool cos first comes the practicality and effectiveness of it, then the design of the shapes, panels etc.
The pilot looks pretty good though - keep goin!

practicallity? hehe, yes, I've thought all the thoughts that you said. But I have disregarded them all. Why? Because I just wanted to do them like this.. or I'm just stupid.. (more the last :))
But to be honest, I will change it all, cause I don't like it when it doesn't look right.
I didn't use any refrence when making the design, which is an awful idea. The whole project is just relearning max as I haven't used it since uni really.. So I'm doing all my mistakes over again and relearning to do it right.
Loved your comment on the gunsight, that was the little comedy that I wanted in it. Cause right now it's very OTT.
I appreciate your comments allot, cheers. I saw your tank and loved it allot, made me almost give up on mine, but then I thought, hey, look at his and learn :)

i think that gun looks very gigant, i think you can have lot of fun adding more detail in that model, try to do some new concepts, you can put some holes and stuf like that, something whit kind if industrial machine. those ones to construct a house or building something like that, and really gigant tires like RollCage or a tractor.
have fun man, good luck
