View Full Version : Anyone else having trouble ordering?

Trying to identify where the issue is... and wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same.

I've tried 4 separate times, with 2 different credit cards... double, triple, even quadruple checking the entry fields, in the last few of hours, to give lux my money (in exchange for a copy of modo, of course ;) ). I am absolutely certain the cards are valid, and that they have plenty of room on them for purchases. Each attempt has resulted in a message, at the end of checkout, indicating that the order could not be processed by the online store and that I'd need to contact the sales department if I'd like to place an order. Having called the number provided, now 3 times (once for 'general information', once for 'Brad Peebler'... not that I make a habit of calling the president of a company... it was the only other option provided by the system, and another for 'general information' to leave a message), I'm assuming lux isn't staffed on the weekends... I must 'assume' because although I've looked at the site, I cannot find operating hours posted anywhere. Having noticed a couple lux employees monitoring the forums, one of which (Eric), posting as recently as earlier today, I'm hoping they notice this post and help rectify the situation.

p.s. to any lux folks:
As PM for the company I am part of, I would sure like to be able to use this weekend to do some testing of modo, for fit into our production pipeline (no, not just this weekend, but I could make a rather large dent)... which could very well mean several more copies purchased. Workload and deadlines don't allow for it during the week. I understand (all too well) you've been busy, and the need for time off, especially after a long hard week, but please consider (not that you haven't already) that I may not be the only one experiencing this, and it may mean the difference of several sales.

I've had the same problem. I was using my Bank Debit\Visa and received the same message. I spoke to a Lux employee Friday to determine the problem, I was told that with verisign they can't accept Debit cards even if they have the Visa logo. BTW the only option to order is online, they cannot take phone orders nor can one send a check/mo for their order.

I'm waiting for a solution, one of which I was told may be paypal.

That explains why I couldn't complete the order. Visa debit. Wonder what's up with the transaction system? Called Lux up and they took care of me though.

<edit> actually, debit card worked but only without the discount code <end the edit yo>

Thanks for the responses. Good ?! to know I'm not alone. Sounds like that may explain the second card, which was a Debit/Visa, but the first card was a run-of-the-mill Mastercard... Hmmm. Lux?

So how did they take care of you? Would love to know? Rumor has it that if they like you it's a weekend at Vegas with unlimited credit and all the Krispy Kremes you can eat - if they don't like you it's two in the chest and one in the head... :D :D :D

I've had the same problem, and I'm not using a debit card. I've tried 4 or 5 times and I get the same message. I called Lux and Wednesday and left a message after being transferred to sales by the receptionist and have yet to receive a call back. Maybe I'll give it one more try today, but I'm losing confidence.

I’ve dealt with Verisign a number of times and this should not be a problem for them to process, unless it’s an issue for the credit card processor they’re using. Verisign is a gateway to the credit card processor and not the final point of transaction.

I closed the store temporarily just a few minutes ago and processed a test purchase. It went through with no problems. To those that are having problems placing orders send me a PM with an email address where I can contact you to directly to get further information.

The problem has been found (outside of our systems) and we're working on a solution. It may not be resolved until tomorrow morning. Sorry for the hassle with this and thanks for bringing it to our attention.

Well uh-uh gee, glad that worked for you, I simply asked because when I spoke with Lux I wasn't offered any such option or work-around.

But hey thanks for the response, whewww it was nice to have a straight answer without all of the smarta$$ comments.
