This looks great, but the tree's trunks look like they've been carved out of stone.

Good work.

hello! I think it's a good picture, but ... I think that to see a so big "house" (temple) without any distorsion, in the real world, you should be rather far from it, and so much haze would modify a lot the contrast and the definition of the batiment; here, it seems more like a reduced model than a real house;maybe a render with more skylight, and some haze, will blend more with the background photo!...

Very nice work! Though, as others said, the tree trunks look faceted.

Very nice lighting!

Really nice feel to the lighting, except for the trees to the left, which don't seem to have the same light as the rest of the image - the trees to the bottom right work beautifully, but the the left the have odd silhouettes and don't pick up any light like the fence does around them. Love the rest of the piece!

You've a skillful craftmanship on architecture. Is there a Samurai still living in it?

Great modelling and render, the house is very detailled and i really like the camera angle, just one regret: the trees truncs in the left part of the scene, who are too angulars.

i really like the scene but i think its still to clean......the ground especially........

keep working on that or keep it this way........just my thought... the modeling is very good....

Yes, it is a bug that Vray has in respect to Speedtree :hmm:

Looks awesome, but it's like dead, there are no people and no signs that there are people, makes it kinda boring.

Yeah, um, that is a nice view of De Espona's Hikone Castle model.

Vray rocks - this image shows what a sun and a little GI can do.

Beautiful house. Too bad about the tree trunks; maybe you could smooth them in postwork. But I really like that building.

I see a challange!!!...
Incredible modelling....
But your scene needs a misty atmosphere with fog, haze, etc...
And also needs some dirt !....
Besides I agree with the critics about "sharp-edged" trees...

At last ... An admirable, impressive work...

Very good picture. I think you could remove the faceted trunk problem in photoshop in 3 minutes without having to render anything again.

really amazing image, my only suggestion would be somehow add a litle light (a little) hitting the leaves of the trees, in my opinion thats mostly whats keeping it away from photorealism

Challenge? Ok, I am in.
Sorry, don't know why this thread bugs me.... Shi Yao did redo all the materials. It is a great model. Maybe that was the point.

Here is my 30min. I changed a few materials. Drop in your background and fav trees and you are good to go.

Some nice GI errors in there for you too.... probably some bad geo somewhere.

Render time: 3m 40s

The details are fantastic, the trunks are very faceted.
I think the building looks like a maquete or toy.

i agree with everyone about the tree trunks but some photoshop work could fix that pretty easily.

The architecture style is superbly accurate. I love it! The tree trunks are a little distracting, since they don't look very real, but the rest is amazing.

you are good in lighting but the light on the tree does'nt match with building.
you need more details about compusite and color correction.

What a fabulous building and the contrast between that and the soft background is brilliant. I love the lightness and texture of the leaves on the trees - and yes - the trunks do need some more attention but overall this scene is fabulous.
