CGTalk - Sword of the dead

Hi all! Just wanted to make me one of those swords - so i did - here the result by the way

"Gladius Morti" is something like "The sword of the dead" (or atleast i hope so). Photoshop CS. Hope someone enjoys it - or it doesnt matter cuz i had fun making it :D

That's cool man! But I do hope you're still willing to improve it, because it could be way cooler than it already is. If you feel like making it even better, please say so so I can try to give you my opinion on what to change :D

Changed the colors to more yellowish tones - what do you guys think ? I think it looks better

the skulls could use more definition, they look blurry next to the sword. the lil gem thing in the middle of the crosspeice looks like its floating and the shading on it isnt consistant with the rest of the pic. since you have the whole pic in warm colors try adding some colder hues where you want emphasis. the texture on the blade looks more like hair than scatch marks. the little peices on the sides of the hilt look good, id give the blade the same look. its a good start though
