sound card

I have a quick question for you guys i have a sound blaster inspire 4.1 speaker system, and i was wondering if you use a 5.1 sound card with that setup what kind of performance would i get. the 4.1 sound card i have from philips sucks, nothing but problems, so i am looking for a creative 4.1 sound card or a card from a reputable company that will work well.

Any 5.1 or 7.1 card will support 4.1 audio

I've got a card that supports 7.1 plugged into 2.1 speakers, works fine. Just waiting until I get more living space to go for the full 7.1 experience :)
