CGTalk - Sound Effects CD

I am in dire need of sound effects for my project. Can anyone recommend a good one that covers a wide variety of sounds? I was disappointed when I bought Sony 1001 sound effects CD because it was filled with worthless junk. What a waste of money.

I have used www.soundogs.com (http://www.soundogs.com/) before. You can pick out just the sounds you want. They have low resolution previews on the website and the prices are low enough that you can pick a few variations and pretty much get what you need.

BTW. What about the sound quality? Are they top notch?

The ones at soundogs are CD quality... once you purchase and download them. The ones on the website for preview are lower quality, and are often cut (you don't hear the whole thing)

I was happy with the ones I downloaded. Here is what I used them in, it may give you an idea.
This is a mixture of a few different of the sound effects mixed together.

It's kind of a large file 8mb or so.
