Anyone having issues with Nvidia's drivers?? XSI just loads to the point where it's about to show the viewports and it just closes without any notices. There's no problems with 61.XX drivers though.

I've got a FX5700.

I am running 61.77 without problems, so maybe it is better not to upgrade to 66.81. Is there a specific reason you need this upgrade?? Some other app fixed by it? I have a 5900xt and have zero problems on a wide range of applications with the 61.77 drivers.

66.81 not 61.80

It's on nVidia's ftp.

XSI isn't starting for me either... weird. Hope this problem isn't in the next final driver release.

I get the same problem with any drivers after 61.77/61.82, I have an Asus 6800 GE, and ughh that means basically that I can't use any drivers made for my card! WTF?

Did you try reinstalling xsi like I suggested in your other thread?? I currently have zero problems with xsi and a 6800 card. I suspect something got screwed up with you version. Be careful usng registry tools they do mistake softimage settings as errors.

This is just something to *check* - see if you have nVidia's Desktop Management enabled - it causes problems, as well as makingXSI run dog-slow. I'm running on a 6800GT at home with no problems - even running the 61.77 drivers.

If you've been installing and re-installing, you might see if you can get a copy of "Driver Cleaner" (do a search on Google) - it will clean off all of the files that the installers put on your machine - that don't get uninstalled. Also, make sure you're *un-installing* before you install new or different drivers - if Windows is using a file, it won't let it get overwritten - so uninstalling in Safe Mode is even a better idea...

I hope you get it figured out.

I've tried reinstalling/uninstalling drivers, i'm now using 61.77' OMEGA Driver release, which is better than the regular nvidia ones, still no driver post 61.82 works with XSI for me :( I've tried everything I could think of, It's just a driver incompatibility. :bounce:
