Im having problem deciding where all the shadows and dark areas on a painting go, it's really anoying too.

I dont know why im having this problem either. Is there somethng out there that can help me develop this.

Identify where you want your light sources, their color and size etc, the rest should then fall into place.

That should give you your main pass, for more subtle light effects consider occulsion of ambient light.

Some people prefer to start very dark (a lights off approach), then build up saturation and value according to the light. Then finally adding in the projected shadows.

Thanks for your reply, im getting my wacom i a couple weeks, it should help me. This mouse is awful, plus it's on the right side and im left handed so it makes things more confusing to me for some reason.

I only recently got a wacom and the difference is amazing. Drawing with a mouse is near impossible:((
