Hello there!

I was quite in a good day today so I decided to make a REAL time paint tutorial.
As this goes on, stay in touch and ask whatever you want ....

Hope enjoy it.

Well, lets start over.

I use a smaller image image size trying to work faster with lower detail in the beginning.
Use different airbrushes with large diameters and spread your basic color tones all over the canvas, starting from the background, which becomes the sky.

Creating a Color pallete for your scene, can be very useful having all the time the necessery tones next to you, using them to the scene

Now start adding your basic cloud geometries with smaller brush sizes. Create the illusion of density of clouds using lighter tones and adding shadow to the opposite side of each geometry, giving a more detailed shape.

Its the time where you must decide where the lights must come from.

So I create a lighter sun area and add more sharp highlights on these clouds that are closer to the light source.

Working with the same technque you ll have a result like this

Now....the final approach can be like this.
As you can notice...the only problem is that the color density is a bit "flat" in the whole sky.

And now a tip
Take your brush and using Dodge and Burn Mode correct the below areas .

Hi there! Love your tutorial already :P

Just a few questions,

-What version of PS are you using?
-The brushes you use, for the clouds, are these normal round shaped blurred brushes?
-Since this is a 'realtime' tutorial, I assume you've been spending all the time inbetween your posts on this work? I hope so, because my first 10 minutes of trying are not really promising :P

Thanks in advance :)

I work on 4 different layers for separate rock elements. I m playing with a draft detail for now. Don' t need to focus on this more....cause at the end the whole image will be resized

hi !
this is really great :)

i have a question, how do i make a colour palette?

Xtronik

One good way is to spray related colors you want to use into your scene, next to each other, somewhere in a non-used area of your image.... you ll have the mixing colors too for your pallete. Yous this strokes as a real pallete to pick up colors for your airbrushes fast & easy

you can make/see the palete in photoshop saving the image as an gif or png, or changing the mode from RGB to index color. If you don't see the palet window, select menu Windows > Swatches (Color / Swatches / Styles)
