Heyo,

This is a landscape I'm working on in Photoshop. The purpose is for the learning. I take what I've learned with previous works, apply it to a new image, and try to tackle something new. .. blah blah, anyway, Just wanted some opinions on it so far.

Concerns: I will probably crop the top area of the clouds (till the top of tree), to have a wider aspect. Speaking of the tree, I find the bottom trunk area blends well, but I believe that the top branch area doesn't blend so well against the clouds. How can I fix that? Color? Atmosphere?

I also believe that there might be some perspective issues concerning the cliffy rock area to the right. Apart from all that, I still must refine the water, the soon-to-be-raging river, and possibly the clouds as well. Thanks for looking!

It is looking liek a good start there. the first thing that I noticed was that as I looked at the center of the image here the more you pan to the right the less of a defined horizon you seem to have there, kind of losing the entire depth of the piece in that sense to me. The colors for the tree do seem to blend a bit to much with the sky/clouds. I might drop the color in the sky/clouds a bit myself and soften them up, I think leaving the tree a darker color works pretty well here.

The cliffs tot he right do lack a sense of perspective you are right, they look kind of out of place to me as comapred to the rest of the piece, I may tone them doen a bit and let them fade into the backdrop more than being a more focal point as they are now....they seem to draw your eye away from the left side fo the piece which I feel is a strong piece of work so far.

Simply my opinions though, good start you have there.
