Im finally going to finish this car as well. So I tested out some new shaders and a lighting theory on it last week. Here's the result. I;ll finish the details up on the car over the next couple weeks in my spare time from the comic. Let me know what you all think?

Nice car indeed, clean modelling. But it appears to me as if the reflections on the car didn't correspond to the actual wall. You should use the same maps. Furthermore I think the floor is way too reflective.

Keep on the good work!

Wow.

That is a great concept car. Is it your own design or a model of a current concept?
Any chance of getting a view of more of the front?
This has rasied the bar for my own concept car. I'm going to have to try harder now.

i remember your concept car from before and i was following your other thread when you were building this car, i really like your designs they are great but yeha i also agree about the reflections other than that the design is flawless , anyways can you give us a quick brief rundown of your lighting technique ? i asked you this same question on your other car , anyways keep it up

hey ray sorry. The lighting is fairly easy.. Im using xsi 4..so use light rig from image, have a hdri image to use...use the same for your reflections.. Now right away the scene will be just about whited out, so using the settings in the light rig turn it way down..like 4 course intense and 2 for fine, the saturation is personal choice. So the light rig is your nice global fill..also make sure to select all the lights under the rig, they are all infinite, and put shadowmap on, so the shadows are nice and smooth. Then for the key light its simply a spot light, with area light shadows and properties. Also the ambience for the scene and materials are all around 0.2, this makes it so there is no pure pure blacks, and reveals alot more details. To get the glow effect on the highlights that was done in post..in photshop, as was the whole render sharpened to clear it up. There is no global illumination or final gather used in my renders, takes wayy too long. Anyways any more questions shoot away..ill get more renders as I get time to finish it
