View Full Version : Axis handles in R9
flyingP 10-04-2004, 04:36 PM this ones just had me going for the last half an hour or so so I thought I'd mention it.... seems you can lock the axis handles in R9 with a double click, kind of useful actually but the selection tools won't select when you have done so, at least they weren't for me....you either need to blend the axis out (another nice little feature) or click in the middle of the Axis to free them up again.....haven't find anything on it in the manual yet, but like I said now that I know about it is kinda useful :)

Yeah, double-click on a handle to lock it. Change the lock to another axis by single-clicking on that axis. Turn off the lock by double-clicking again anywhere.
It was a decent idea but overall I'd prefer not to have it. I find myself accidentally locking the axis too often.

exactly that has just cost me some hair, especially as I was unaware of the feature. :)

that I'll do, just wish I'd had bit of a warning on a few of them though :D , seriously where is this one hidden in the manual?

Just like noted before double click on the handle to lock it, click in the axis centre to unlock it, all in all a useful feature, just a big headache when you don't know it exists. :)

Oh, I meant turn the option off so it works like C4D 8.
Ya can hide the axes in 9.
Guess if the axes is hid, ya wouldn't worry about locking it accidentally

hiding the axis releases the lock too, just makes it a bit harder to move stuff :) , other than that the locking isn't a problem as you only need to click once to release it again, like I said personally I find it a useful feature, and today was the first time I actually managed to lock the axis through an unexpected double click
