View Full Version : dumb question: max interface
MonkeyBoy 08-13-2002, 07:53 PM I've been trying to avoid asking this here and looking like a numbskull. When I rotate the view in max, my objects are replaced by placekeeper boxes, and only reappear when I release the mouse button at the end of the rotate. It didn't use to do this - I could rotate and see the objects in real time. I suspect I have accidentally switched on some memory-saving feature (probably by hitting the wrong shotcut key, something I do a lot). But I can't for the life of me find the opposite key to set it back. Can anyone help?

Yeah, it's called degradation override toggle. On the buttom of the screen, looks like a cube, next to snap and Animate button.

You need to hit the degradation overide button located at the bottom of the interface. shortcut key is default "o"
Its likely youve accidently hit "o" and enabled it. Its a trick for being able to easily manover around highres scenes by turning objects into their bounding boxes.
