Title: Codename Hotrod
Name: Ali Murat Keskin
Country: Turkey
Software: 3ds max, finalRender, Photoshop, Rhino
I designed and modeled this luxury-sports car in 270 hours in a few phases. This is a exterior car design work, so I modeled interior of the car simply . I was inspired by 1971-73 Buick Riviera Boattail, but I think my design looks more aggressive. So I named it Hotrod, we can also call it Hotrod ducktail :)
Hotrod's key dimensions:
length: 492cm (193,7")
width: 187,5cm (73,8")
height: 124cm (48,8")
wheel base: 290cm (114")
wheels: 20"
I used Rhino for modeling, it's nurbs based. I rendered it in 3ds Max with finalrender, using global illumination & HDRI.
I'd like to hear critiques mostly about exterior car design.

I really this one deserfes front page not for its rendering but for desining a really great car - having studied architecture I can slightly imagine the long process you put into this baby ... it would be great to see some early stages: concept sketches, models that you didnt use etc.
with my first sentense I didnt mean that the rendering is not good. you also did a really good job on that, but I see the big part in this work in the design process.
we could discuss the shape of the car ... the duck tail is special, I could imagine it a bit more broad ... but thats tast.
only crit is the name. hotrod is odd. sounds like a tuned up crash car with flame painting or a ministry song. I could imagine a more elegant name ... mimo8 for example :D

~Dude, very cool design. It looks alot like a Toyota Supra from the rear. Any chance some inspiration came from the Supra? The Paint job color is an exelent choice, gives it the luxury look you were going for. The front hood looks really odd, but in a good way :). Any chance you can show some frontal shots with Default texture? I'd really love to see the shape u have in it. Killer Job! Better than my robot!

shader and render are great, but the front of the car seems a bit strange for me !
Few years ago the car builders decided not to make cars with such a front because that caused severe injuries to the pedestrians in a collision...
Remember the old BMW...
But The design is good !

it reminds me of the car design from TVR . Its front is not strange but really cool , increase the value and saturation of maroon color a bit will be great.

I really like the concept, everything seems to fit but one -
the front looks really awkward, like it was done in a rush.
maybe you should work it a bit, and then it'll be even better :)

Great design and concept.

Great concept as I love TVR!
The mag wheels are tinsely and the form doesnt really fit the concept somehow.
Great modelling.

Man, you got my respect.
This is the most innovative car design I've seen this year.
I like the flow of the lines, the colour, everything is very harmonic.
In german we say : Einfach nur geil!
