View Full Version : Sound in Preview
kevin3d 10-03-2004, 05:06 PM Hi all. I can't seem to get my audio playing back in my previews. The sound seems set up ok...works when I scrub, but nothing plays back in my wire frame previews.
I'm using R8 on PC...thanks!

Have a look at your play back rate. Could be too fast or set to skip frames.
Can't think what else the problem could be. Works for me although can be a bit scratchy at times in more complxe scenes.

Hey Kevin,
Do you mean when you render to a preview or just play in the viewport? Cause C4D won't render sound to a preview, you have to use a post program to put the sound with the video. Hopefully this will be fixed in the next point release, since constantly jumping into AFX or whatever gets real annoying when you're doing lipsynch.

I mean playing back in the viewport. I'm able to do lip syching with C4D. Pop over to C4D Cafe and have a look at my lip synch tutorial :)

Yeah, I was hoping to play sound in the preview itself. Bummer...that was easy to do in Max.
Seems like a pretty basic feature. Well, I guess I'm off to maxons site to request another feature.
Thanks for the responses, though!!
DO you mean preview renderings or wireframe display in the editor?
For soundplayback in the editor there is no need to request this, it's already there.
Have you enabled it? By default it's off.
Take a look at the animation controls.

I mean when I go to render a preview, as opposed to viewing in realtime in the viewport.

hi,
i'm not sure if that's possible (I think not..) but I always render a preview to a quicktime codec and simply paste the audio track in quicktime.
That's pretty fast.
good luck.. I hope someone will respond and tell that it's possible.
:-)
