View Full Version : Still: Composition for titles | 3D biological + typo
slime 08-13-2002, 04:11 PM Hi. This is my first time posting my work
This is a still from the opening secuence of my self-promo reel.
I tryed to go for the "techno-grunge" look but with a more serious approach.
I will showcase the reel in my site when I finish it.
This is final work, except for the size of the logo, which is too small for TV.

I think you did it with masks in AE to achieve the selective blurring :D

I second that, I have always wondered about this sort of look, for Max that is.

Here's a quick sample I did in MAX. If u wanna know how I did it just send me your e-mail adress at capeauchristophe@hotmail.com and I'll send the MAX material file to you.
Please note that this is just a quick sample (made in +- 3 min.). To achieve a better effect just tweak the parameters a bit...

Dude that is just plain sweet! I've seen tons of microcellular artwork around, but never attempted any myself. I'm very impressed, Is the texture some sort of falloff material? Share your techniques!

Hi.
Thanks for the replies. Althougth I expected a little more criticism.
I will post some tutorials on my site when I finish the reel. As for the reel, is not yet online, but is almost finished. I will post it here when it is.
Here I post a MAX4.2 scene with the material if you want to study how was done.

BTW. That's not my site, but a site made by me.
Regards! ;)
You say you would excpect more crits.....than you see something wrong in your scene...
I can't crit it I like it don't know what should be wrong....GO ON
thanks for the max file:buttrock:
agreed.. perhaps when we see it in motion we can be of more help.. but that image is great! :xtreme:

Awesome pic.
Ok, if u expected some crit i'll try to give u some, but this is so perfect its hard to squish anything out of it.
How about u give us a bit of the events that go after this?
It'd be cool that more of the other cells were as this one, make em look mixed.
no, about those little 'description texts' how about u make the cells break down and in the process these texts are changing indicating the time period and decomposition description and stuff.
i think if u'd add lots of tiny tentacles these cells and they would be moving in the animation, and then dissintegrating as time goes by, just a thought, would look awesome i think.
these are just some hints or tips but this is awesome by itself, looks like something out of Parasite Eve or Resident Evil.

Here is a test i made with the texture tutorials posted in this tread... it's just a test, not much work on the animation of the cells but it's a good start i think... the first time it's not verry random, but after a little time it's much better.
My test (http://diaco.euronet.be/blood/) (flash 5 required)
ps: Thanks for the tutorials. :)
