I have to say this is a really interesting comp, I loved madmax, waterworld and all those other 'Post-Apocalyptic' movies. So this is a great chance for me to try and model one of those craptastic vehicles for myself ;)

Anyway, I thought of a recycled copcar with a big-ass railgun in the back(ok, not very original but oh well).
So I started modeling one of my favourite cars, the Ford Mustang 2004 Mach 1 Edition but I got kinda carried away and modeled the complete car withouth the weapon... Oh well, guess Ill have to chop some polies hehehe ;)

So here's the car model wich was surpisingly easy to model for the first time I ever modeled an excisting car(took me only about an hour and a half or so). Its exactly 1001 Polies right now with a lot of optimising to be done.

Hey Nice start. Should be cool - the model looks pretty representational. what kind of texture you going for?

Your images are broken.

EDIT: Funny, I refreshed 3 times before posting that your links were broken. When it reloaded with my comments, the links were working ;)

Looks good, Seems a little low poly, actually. You've got 4500 + Normal Maps, so don't sell yourself short. With a car like that you can either tint the windows and save on the driver's features, or make them very transparent and splurge on him.

Thanks for the replies people!
Metronaut: As you can see in this update Im almost done texturing the car :P
Ghostscape: I had some problems with my image host, so this time I uploaded the picture to my geocities account(I just hope it doesnt run out of bandwidth now hehe). I know its quite lowpoly, its what Im used to hehe, I optimised the model a bit and its still around the 1K polycount with some extra features added... So that leaves plenty of polies left for the driver and the weapon *yay* :)

Anyway, I wanted to model and skin the car as it is before I start adding the weapon system(kind of like a personal project) so stay tuned for more updates soon!

I think the car looks kind of short length-wise. Try www.smcars.net (http://www.smcars.net) for the blueprints of the car. If you're interested, that is. Otherwise, looking good. And you DO realize you'll have to make an interior, right? Just asking because the windshield/windows look kind of "final", in their own wierd way.

Thx alvin! I took a look at those 'blueprints' from that site and its indeed a little bit shorter than the original :D Ill try to fix it soon!

Anyway, I modeled the weapon(not entirely textured yet):

And heres where it is going to be placed:

I wonder if they ever did this in 'pimp my ride'

wow, it look really badass!! I love the weapon, so it is gonna be an AA-gun?
Btw, whats the textures size you used for the car, it look abit low res right now. Keep up the good work.

I like this entry, although I think it could have done even better if you used up some more polys and texture-space, but that's your choice... don't forget to submit the final model. :)
