What is the latest version of maya?

Maya 4.0 is the last stable release of Maya.

AliasWavefront is announcing Maya 4.5 for september :

Unlimited is just the commercial name of the full version of maya ( including Live, Fur, Cloth and advanced modeling features ).

except of course you'll get Sub-Ds in Maya Complete from 4.5 on, and 4.5 Unlimited will have the rather sexy fluid effects.

If you ask me they should have done a bit more with the renderer rather than this fluid stuff. It's a nice feature but how often are you going to use it?
