well you can lock off the rotation of the joint in the channels box i belive. you should be able to do this for EVERY single joint seperate. there might be a better way.

have you tried grouping the joint to its self to be able to use the nodes only for certain things indepently?

Describe what is keeping you from unparenting it, freezing it, grouping it and then parenting the group to the original joint.

Usually in these situations using those bogus unneccessary transforms save your life.

And if you don't what I'm talking about just say and I'll throw up some detailed explanations that will be incredibly helpful.

thanks man, I have already did it on a hard way, I had to make all my animation agian.

but help for the future will be nice!

what was a problem was that I had a rotation on arm on frame 0 with some value. Ok, I have freez it and than maya transfer rotation on joint orient. But I have to have all 0 on joint orient, and then I freez it again but all roations on chailds change too and I don't want that!!I need to keep tham so I could transfer my animniation.
I have try everything and nothing seam to help me, so at the end I had to work all over........

if you know something, some magice, THANKS!!

If the joints are animated with Forward kinematics, you would be able to delete the animation Curves that are attachted to that bone you want to freeze!
At least if you want to permantly freeze that joint.
