DOTT is one of my all time favorite games! back in the old adventure gaming days, when LucasArts ruled the planet! ..ahhhh, fond memories!
..oh by the way, nice picture! ..although I would like to see an "in the room render" instead of an "on a bench render"! ;)

LMAOROF... :D :D :D Combine that with Sam&Max hit the road and you have two of my all time favorite games. (Just unpacked them both yesterday and put them on the shelf)

Great picture, however there are a few things that might help.

The grass: it's too uniform, i've never seen grass grow like fur. Personally I'd make it a lot more varied and spotty.

The Rust texture: It looks pretty good, but you're missing some bump and specular breakup on the texture. It's too even and smooth to pull off the rusty feel.

The bench: I love the way that you tried to represent the age of the bench by wearing away the paint. however the green paint is too clean and the edges of the planks should be a lot more worn. They look brand new (almost)

all in all this is a great picture, and welcome to the forum. From the subject matter of your first image here you have incredible taste. :)

oh wait, I found an "in the room render" on your website! Look fantastic!!! :) ..just like the old game, except the characters are 3d! ..and to be hornest I don't like that! I love the old pixel toons, which is why adventure games like Grim Fandango and Monkey Island 4 just doesn't do it for me..
God I miss the old Lucas adventure games! Why did the world have to change, when everything was so perfect?!
..anyone remember Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade? To me, that is Lucas' finest adventuring hour! ;) ..sorry, I could go on for hours..

Thank you guys
I really appreciate your comments :)

That's right, there are some faults in it but it was just a one-day project (not the DotT models)

Nobody is perfect but some of you are close to it ;)

DotT is definitely one of the best games ever!!!

I also like the old LucasArts adventures.

3D grafix don't fit into this genre
far too less atmosphere and funny characters

thanx and bye
Chris

Oh..now you've done it...

You found my weakness...old adventure games by Lucasarts ;)

The Digg, full Throttle, Sam N Maxx, DoTT, Indy, Loom, and a large collection of others are what inspired me to get into art (strange...right?)

I love how you got it to look so perfect to the games "feel"..but we are all in agreement that the 2D quality of the story could never be compromised ;)

hehe nice work dude! only the grass looks a bit too much like fur I think..

btw: DOTT was great.. soo funny and the gfx were soo cool ;)
but I have to disagree about grim fandango: it's also a very cool game! gotta try that one!

Heyyy, really cool :)

Uhmm, I think 3D can be cool for adventure game... If we don't have to use those 'pain in the ass' interface :( I really prefer the old way to move my character... eh eh :)
(2 example of game with an old good one interface : Sanitarium(sorry, but horror movie are my favourite :)) and the longuest journey...)

Hope some day we will have some new one... it miss me :(
