I'm used to making very clean lines, etc with photoshop, but I wanted to try a painting look for so long. Tonight I had some free time so I took an old old sketch of mine and tried. The nude body took about half an hour, and then adding the clothing took about another 10 minutes...then I think I played with the layer styles for twice that amount of time! Please be somewhat gentle..I haven't drawn/used ps in ages and I'm just learning to use it like this..

this is really nice, seems like u'r getting a good feel for the tools. I really like u'r character my only crit is that the hand on the left looks a little lagre and it would be nice if you details the hands/feet!

Nice job though are you going to give her a background?

Thanks :) She isn't too detailed because it was more or less a test, so no background either.

Hey nice work there. Maybe you should try to replace the pencil outline with a darker colour of whatever medium you were using for this paint. :)

looks good man, but its not very much like what you were going for from what you said.

if you want a painter look, you have to make the brush strokes more visable. look at some fine art painters and try to mimic it.

My father is a more traditional style painter, take a look at his stuff if you dont understand what I mean, or any traditional painter..

o and check out craig mullins work, he does that type of style on the computer, but alot rougher sketchy style, very cool though. I cant find his website off hand, but he won the grandmaster award in the expose 1 book, so go there if you cant find his site.
