sorry, my post got duplicated but with some difference. My mistake.

Currently Im working on the model and designing the Characters. I will try to get three peoples in there. One driver, one loader and one shooter. I will post the design soon.

I changed my concept a little, into a Mammoth Tank! Almost like the one in C&C...

The headskelet of the Mammoth is stolen from a museum, just for xtra armor protection an for a more fiersome look.

I have been lazy and not explained a lot of my concept. Well... here it is.

In the post-acopolyptic future there were a rouge bandit group that wanted their own veichle to roam the road. The group were forged by only three people. They lived in a small town. They didnt have enough of money to buy themself a new car so they desided to build their own. And the result is a true form of art. The hull was built around a tree, the engine was a form of a steamengine and the weapon was a big built canon that shoots big rocks.

The three characters are. The driver, the shooter and the loader. The driver is shy and almost never leave the veichle. The shooter thinks he is the leader, like Napoleon of France. Were bossy and overconfident. The Loader is a strong grunt, not so smart but good at lifting stuff, like big rocks.

They are now out and plundering for food and water.

On this picture they are out searching for ammo. And when almost everything is a wasteland it is not that easy.

wow man, very cool. your a weird guy:D
i agree with the trees, good luck making em realistic,- cause trees are impossibly hard.- it might be cooler if there was no alpha mapping planes at all, and you just made several spheres with a solid leaf texture. might be more stylized.

Thanks all and thanks for the feedback

I have worked some more on my texture. I have changed my leafs. Instead of half spheres I made planes falling down. With the spheres it was just impossible to make good leaves. I just had to change it to make it look better. I think this looks much better. On the trees behalf I have added "moss", if its not a word you see what I mean. I will also change the rings so they be bigger. (Arrax (http://www.cgtalk.com/member.php?find=lastposter&t=175787) tips)

Here is a new update. Follow the link to see it bigger. How do you make thumbnails?

Looks a lot better…
I like the way this is going, it is defiantly one of the more original ideas for this contest.

The tree looks better, but I still don’t see how the gun will shoot?
Will it shoot like old colonial weapons like the musket; were they load a small pellet(in your case a large rock) and then pore in gunpowder, than push it to the back?

Just wondering, but keep up the good work!

As a mather of facts it is a problem. I have tried to make it workable. I think I have failed.

How it works today: The guy at the back loads the rock, back of the canon. He close the hatch. Then the other guy points and shoots. But how does it work, it doesnt. If there were gunpowder, the hatchet wouldnt hold. But in this case I assume it will hold.

I cant let him load the rock in the front. There is no way for him to get there. I dont know, I hope people will buy it that it is just load and shoot. But I am more than open to suggestions.

Maybe you could modify a old cannon like this one (http://people.howstuffworks.com/flintlock1.htm)...
Maybe you could instead of pouring the gunpowder in like in the picture; you could have it in a bag or something, so the grunt in the back will load the rock, than put a bag of gunpowder behind the rock, than close the back hatch!
Now it is ready to fire!

Just an idea...

Actually, thats how modern artillery operate, you are pretty close.
1) Load the round
2) load the charges, which are gunpowder (a safer version) in bags. The further you wanted to shoot, the more bags you put.
3) close the hatch, pull the lever that will ignite the primer(which is almost like a bullet) to fire up the rounds.
